What is vision therapy?

Visual therapy is a visual rehabilitation treatment based on visual exercises, individual and customised.

It is performed by a specialized optometrist and supervised by an ophthalmologist.

What is Amblyopia/Lazy Eye?

Amblyopia, also known as lazy eye, is characterized by low visual acuity that cannot be corrected or improved with glasses.
A lazy eye, in addition to having low visual acuity, causes other difficulties. That is, its eye movements, contrast sensitivity, accommodation or focusing, eye-hand coordination, and eye fixation are worse than in the other eye. Due to these differences, the eyes do not collaborate with each other.

Symptoms of amblyopia or lazy eye

  • Frequent blinking (one of the most common)
  • Tilting of the head
  • He has a more drooping eyelid
  • He has trouble paying attention
  • Frequent falls

In which cases is visual therapy recommended?

  • Amblyopia (lazy eye)
  • Strabismus
  • Problems with eye movements
  • Problems coordinating both eyes
  • Accommodative or focusing problems
  • Problems or difficulties in learning
  • Fatigue, stress during prolonged tasks in near vision

How do we do it?

A specific and complete optometric examination is carried out of all visual abilities that may influence poor vision performance.

With the results obtained, a visual rehabilitation exercise program is designed with the aim of improving its functioning and effectiveness.

In order to learn to read, it is necessary that all visual skills are correctly developed.
